They named the project Transangels—after none of their childhood stories but after the angels people used to carve into doors to mark passages, to call protection when things changed. The “double fixed” in their residency title offered a pun: double as in twofold, fixed as in anchored—and also the old slang for medical procedures. They would play with those meanings.
