Dutch hardcore, also known as "Hollandse Hardcore," has its roots in the 1980s, when the Netherlands was experiencing a surge in popularity of hard electronic music. Influenced by the emerging genres of hardcore techno and gabber, Dutch producers and DJs began to create their own unique sound, characterized by fast-paced beats, heavy basslines, and often, humorous or ironic lyrics.
