Makeup emphasized bone structure: soft contouring to sharpen the cheekbones, a faint smudge of shadow to suggest long nights and longer journeys, and a single streak of metallic pigment beneath the temple to hint at arcane technology. The cloak itself blended materials: a heavy, matte wool for the outer layer, a silky, patterned lining that suggested hidden provenance. Weathering across cuffs and hems told stories without words — frayed threads, a whisper of dust, a barely visible scorch mark near the hem where an old battle or experiment had gone sideways.
