Look Back is more than just a "coming-of-age" story. It is a tribute to the "Kyoto Animation" tragedy and a love letter to the grueling process of making manga. In a year filled with massive blockbusters, Look Back stood out by being intensely intimate. It asks difficult questions: Why do we create when it is so painful? What happens when the person who inspired us is gone?
