This paper examines the Hungarian documentary film Szia, életem! (Hello, My Life), focusing on its portrayal of the integration process of a Brazilian child into a Hungarian foster family. By analyzing the film’s narrative structure, cinematographic choices, and ethical implications, this study explores how the documentary format functions as a tool for social awareness regarding the complexities of transcultural adoption and the concept of "home."
