For the record, I love and own nearly every studio album they released, so it’s not a mere preference for a particular stage of their career – it’s simply the one that came out on top.
Nice appreciative analysis of Sonic Youth’s strongest and most artistic ’90s album. I dug a little deeper in my analysis (‘Beyond SubUrbia: A View Through the Trees’), but I think my Gen-x perspective demanded that.
