The FNIRSI DSO-TC2 firmware is a functional but unoptimized implementation of a portable oscilloscope and component tester. Its lack of cryptographic protections makes it an ideal learning platform for embedded reverse engineering. By analyzing the binary structure and hardware interfaces, we identified measurement bugs and performance bottlenecks, and provided fixes. Future work includes porting a real-time operating system (FreeRTOS) to improve UI responsiveness and adding support for external trigger input via a hardware mod.
