1 Funkan Dake Furete Mo Ii Yo... Share House No... !!hot!!
This ambiguity is intentional. The series never fully explains why Akari chose exactly 60 seconds. Is it because 60 seconds is the length of a Japanese commercial break? Is it a reference to a childhood memory? The manga teases but never fully answers, leaving room for fan theories and ongoing discussion.
“1 Funkan…” knows exactly what it is: a disposable, enjoyable fantasy for an audience that likes gentle teasing and situational ecchi. It doesn’t overstay its welcome, but don’t expect character growth or a satisfying ending. Recommended for a single-volume read if you enjoy the premise; skip if you need substance beyond the gimmick. 1 Funkan dake Furete mo Ii yo... Share House no...
Excellent case. A few months before this was published, I met Lee Ranaldo at a film he was presenting and I brought this album for him to sign. Lee said it was his “favorite” Sonic Youth album, and (no surprise) it’s mine too, which is why I brought it.
For the record, I love and own nearly every studio album they released, so it’s not a mere preference for a particular stage of their career – it’s simply the one that came out on top.
Nice appreciative analysis of Sonic Youth’s strongest and most artistic ’90s album. I dug a little deeper in my analysis (‘Beyond SubUrbia: A View Through the Trees’), but I think my Gen-x perspective demanded that.
